Sedalia Colorado Wedding | Amanda & Trevor

Amanda and Trevor met at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. He was in her finance class and for over half the semester she adored him from the back of the room. Amanda and another friend knew they needed additional help before finals came around so figured it was the perfect excuse to introduce themselves to Trevor, the student with one of the best grades in the class. They went old school and wrote him a note and passed it toward the front of the room at the beginning of class. Trevor wrote back that he was open to helping them and Amanda thought to herself ‘we’re going to hit it off and this is the beginning of forever’. However, Trevor took tutoring very seriously and by the third session, she was convinced he didn’t like her so she stuck out the tutoring, got a good grade in the class, and wished him a great summer after finals.

About three months later Trevor texted her and asked her out for dinner. The rest is history!

I had the honor of meeting Amanda and Trevor in 2017 when they first got engaged. We spent a weekend in Crested Butte together documenting their engagement photos which was insanely fun. On that trip, I discovered new friendships and also discovered how in love Amanda and Trevor are. Their kindness is the type that makes you want to be a better person just by being around them. Not to mention, they supported me in my first Patagonia purchase that trip (or as some say, Patagucci) and I mean an awesome friendship beginning with Patagonia is a total no brainer! 😉 Anyways, their love for life and love for eachother really leads in all that they do.  When they asked me to be their wedding photographer that following year I was overwhelmingly exstaic!

Amanda and Trevor got married on June 8, 2019 at The Sanctuary Golf Course in Sedalia, CO. It was a beautiful day in Colorado that actually ended up delivering us every type of weather in the shortest amount of time ever but hey, what’s Colorado without a little odd weather?

One of my favorite moments was their first look. We positioned Trevor at the first hole on the t-box which overlooked the western foothills and incredible Rocky Mountains. The weather was stunning at this point and the sound of the breeze through the pines was just enough to calm one’s nerves. Derek, my second shooter and husband, stayed with Trevor as I went to walk Amanda out to meet him.

Okay – pause here real quick. THIS moment I’m talking about right here means SO much to me. It is a moment that I basically pinch myself to be in. Why? This is the first time they are seeing each other on their wedding day and I get to walk side by side with the bride as we approach her soon-to-be husband. This is an INSANELY special moment and gosh I get the goosies every single time I experience it.

Anyways, when we finally reached the t-box, Amanda gracefully walked up to him and tapped his shoulder to see her. The smiles and tears that commenced made myself tear up behind my lens. Not only was this moment incredibly stunning all around, but I was just so darn happy for them.

The entire night was full of this mood. So much love was present for this couple and it is so clear why. It is those same realizations I made back in Crested Butte…the same realizations of their kindness, genuineness and love that define why.

Congratulations Amanda and Trevor! I cannot wait to watch you grow over the years! Thank you for choosing me to be your friend and be a part of your special memories.

Based in Northern Colorado, I like to describe myself as a free soul always in awe of the really cool world around us! On any given day, you can find me trying to keep up with my daughter, laughing way too loud and probably enjoying a really pretty donut. I use love as my compass and seek the good in all…while drinking way too much Sport Tea. As a Colorado native, I’d rather be barefoot dipping my feet in the Poudre river, but when that can’t happen, visiting a concert at Red Rocks usually does the trick. Nature excites me, the city inspires me and I strive to infuse love in all that I do!
